I want to Travel the World

We just crossed the border from South Africa over to Namibia. I am over the moon with excitement for what this trip through the Namibian desert will bring. However, it is also a milestone for me because I have now set foot in and traveled through 50 countries! I know that numbers don’t matter and many travelers choose not to “count countries”, but I have always found that setting a goal pushes me to actually do something. Long ago, I told myself I would see the world. Having traveled to 50 countries I have now been in more than 25% of the … Read More

Balkan Travel tips

The Balkans are a terrific place to travel. One of our favorite regions we’ve been in Europe. However, before you travel the Balkan region there are some tips you should know. When it comes to Balkan travel tips we should clarify what we mean by “Balkans”. Where exactly is the Balkan Region? And what exactly is it? Exploring The Bay of Kotor

The travel buzz about Kotor, Montenegro is swirling. When considering where to spend a summer in Montenegro, Kotor is an easy choice. This Adriatic gem is appearing on everyone’s travel radar and it was an easy destination decision for us on our Balkan tour. When Tasha visited Kotor in 2012 it was still “relatively undiscovered.” However, after Lonely Planet’s naming of Kotor as one of the best places to travel in 2016, the destination is picking up speed fast. Yet, Kotor is striving hard to keep it’s atmosphere despite the cruises that continue to cycle through and we still wanted to find out the best things … Read More

Off the Beaten Path Travel

After writing a handful of blog posts, I realized there is a consistent pattern and viewpoint of many of the destinations I have traveled to.  Even while sharing travel stories with friends, family, and travelers alike, many of my sentences start out the same. “I wasn’t planning on going there.” I tend to travel with a pretty open schedule, and when I hear about cool places or things it’s hard to justify not making the trip!  The most common way I hear about off the beaten path travel destinations is from staying in hostels with like-minded travelers.   One of … Read More
