Enjoying Fall in Banff in Our Zappos Merrell Jungle Crocs

There’s a change in the air, which means it’s time for our favorite season, Fall. Last year we missed out on this magical time of year at home because we were adventuring around Northern France. So with the current situation abroad, we were forced to spend this one at home in the Canadian Rockies.

With a chill in the air, we’ve been enjoying the best of the Canadian Rockies. There’s always a silver lining and in this case, it happens to be gold-colored and smells like pumpkin spice and smoke.

Fall in Banff

Want to know a local’s opinion on the best time to visit Canada’s oldest national park? September in Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies for that matter would be our recommendation for the best time to visit. Once school resumes the madding crowds dissipate, the Banff restaurants are quieter, and the feeling of wilderness returns to many parts of the park.

Fall in Banff is crisp and full of beautiful colors from the changing larches and aspen trees. Temperatures begin to shift rapidly with mild days and cold nights. The temperature changes mean the tops of peaks received a fresh dusting of snow, but we can still enjoy our favorite summer activities. That means we’ve been hiking, biking, camping, and climbing some new mountains all through September.

Around the Canadian Rockies, this time is referred to as the larch season. This means the annual larch march begins as thousands of hikers take off in search of amazing views and fall colors. We’ve had an amazing time drinking pumpkin spice lattes and soaking up every last minute of the fall season.

We even got lucky enough to score some last-minute campsites at one of the most amazing places to camp in North America, Assiniboine Provincial Park. That all means a lot of time on our feet so comfortable shoes around town are always appreciated.

Our Go-To Shoe This Season

Merrell Moabs

We’ve been big fans of the Merrell shoe brand for years now, and the Moabs were the pair of shoes we packed on when we began our journey with this blog over five years ago. To this day, those boots, or a new pair at least, are still carrying us around the mountains.

Once we finish up enjoying the fall colors on the trail, we slip on our comfortable Jungle Mocs for some fall adventures around the town. That might include walking around town, enjoying beers at the local brewery, or relaxing on one of our many lakes. The Jungle Mocs are the perfect fall shoe in the mountains as they’re super comfortable for lounging around town or

We ordered our Merrell Jungle Mocs off of Zappos. Zappos is our go-to online store as they have a wide range of styles, which extends beyond shoes. Not being an in-store shopper, Zappos makes it incredibly easy for me to get what I want right to my doorstep when visiting the USA.

Zappos offers fast and free shipping and a 365-day return policy. We stay pretty busy so all of these things make shopping online for gear super convenient. We love to use them for many of our footwear and outdoor wear needs!
