This low-key local Lansing brewery is a delightful spot to hang out and kick back with a cold one. They offer ten of their own creations on draft, alongside 30 of the best brews from all around the state, including ciders and meads.

The roster of taps is always changing, and they occasionally come out with a special seasonal brew, so there’s always something new to try here. The Midtown Hoptimal is a strong contender for the most coveted craft in town.

The grub is all locally sourced, and it includes all the classic bar offerings like burgers, sandwiches, and fried fares.

Set in the heart of the Stadium District, Lansing Brewing Company is one of the coolest spots in the city and heading here is one of the best things to do in Lansing! They celebrate the working-class roots of the community while embracing the craft beer movement in a way that’s fun and accessible.

It was one of the first breweries here, supplying beer to the builders of the capital over a century ago. After being closed during the prohibition era and reopened to regain their rightful reputation as the most popular watering hole around.

If the rich history isn’t enough to convince you it’s well worth a visit, the array of creative drafts sure should. They started out with the Amber Cream Ale (still a flagship) and have since branched out to include IPAs, pilsners, sours, and porters. A full menu of pub grub and pizzas is available as well.

Just outside of Lansing in the little hamlet of Mason lies BAD Brewing Company. Everything here is brewed in-house, which includes 17 beers, two ciders, one seltzer, and three seltzer slushies to date.

It’s a happening hotspot for craft connoisseurs, as well as aesthetic appreciators, especially in the winter. Heated igloos are set up on the adorable patio, perhaps the coziest setting possible to enjoy some pints in the winter wonderland of Michigan.

In the warmer months, they host an array of outdoor events, like live music and comedy nights. The Mud in Your Rye is a crowd-pleaser here, but there’s always churning out new microbrews to taste test. They offer a few packaged snacks, but you can bring in your own eats as well. This is one of the best breweries near Lansing, MI and worth driving out to!

Known for brewing liquid art, Ozone’s is a mecca for microbrews in Lansing. At any given time, they have a roster of a few mainstay and seasonal beers, specialty beers, and high gravity beers.

You can get a range of sizes, which is great for trying many different taps or stocking up on your favorite brew, from snifters to flights to growlers. The Sage of Ale, Cinnabrown, and Midnight Maestro are all delicious drafts you’ll want to down.

They have a full menu, with sandwiches and snacks, though the pizzas are really the standout. Order one of their inventive pies or customize your own right down to sriracha dust or everything bagel seasoning on the crust, and you can even make it vegan!


EagleMonk Pub and Brewery

It may not be the most popular Michigan brewery, but EagleMonk is an adorable little Lansing brewery with a big personality. The ambiance is quirky and fun with brightly colored cups adorning the ceiling and a quaint back garden.

They’re always crafting and rotating in new beers on tap, and you can order a regular pour, a sampler, a howler, or a growler. The Delta Porter is an amazing dark option, for hopheads go with the eponymous EagleMonk IPA, and easy drinkers will love the delightful Czech Pilsner.

The appetizers and snacks are ideal for sharing or a light bite, especially the house-made hot spinach artichoke dip. They also offer a wide range of creative pizzas, and the Neighborhood Special comes highly recommended.
